There are two kinds
Identification & IFR Recovery
Procedure:
1. Look at the ASI to identify if speed is increasing or decreasing, Altimeter and VSI can also be used as secondary instruments
(If decreasing, you are likely close to stalling or spin; and if increasing, you may be in a spiral dive. )
Stall Recovery
2. Adjust the power , go full power.
3. Pitch nose down to level the aircraft along its lateral axes (do not roll yet!)
(Use Altitude Indicator)
4. Check Turn Coordinator and/or Altitude indicator to identify the direction of the roll
5. Roll out to level the aircraft to the horizon using Altitude Indicator
6. Reduce the power to maintain the cruse speed or start the climb to regain the lost altitude
Spiral Recovery
2. Adjust the power, reduce the power to Idle (Turn Carb Heat On if time permits during recovery )
3. Check Turn coordinator/Altitude indicator to identify the direction of the roll
4. Roll the aircraft to level the aircraft to the horizan using Altitude indicator
5. Gently pull up to level off
(Use Altitude Indicator to level off, ensure you do not pull aggressively as it will result in over-stress or a stall situation)
6. Adjust (increase) the power to the desired
